The Valspar Championship this week features a mediocre field but a spicy course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. This tournament has featured a winner in single digits under par in two of the last three years (and two of those went to playoffs) so you know you should get your money’s worth this week.
The highlight this week (which you will hear innumerable times over the next few days) is the Snake Pit. This three-hole closing stretch is among the toughest in golf, and players averaged 0.6 strokes over par last year over the three holes at this event. That means no lead is safe coming down the stretch which makes for some compelling viewing.
