Major League Baseball, under commissioner Rob Manfred, took a big step recently in expanding its global footprint. Included in a partnership with Le Sports is a three-year deal to stream games live in China, reports Maury Brown on forbes.com.

The main details on the broadcasting (Forbes.com):

The 125 game schedule will include four HD games per week during the regular season (96 games in total), 20 HD Postseason games, the All-Star Game, Home Run Derby, and all World Series games.

The report indicates that if the coverage is well-received, there could be more games picked up in the near future.

Again, this is all about making more of a global impact as far as Major League Baseball is concerned. It was a more than $9 billion business last season and as the game expands more across the globe that only increases. This is one of the many ways in which player salaries and revenues can go up without ticket prices also rising.
