Alex Bowman overcame a penalty and used a late surge to edge Denny Hamlin for the win at Richmond Raceway last spring. The Hendrick Motorsports driver will hope to repeat when he participates in the 2022 Toyota Owners 400 on Sunday. Bowman received a pit-road speeding penalty in last year's NASCAR Austin race and did not own the lead until after a restart with 10 laps remaining. He edged Hamlin for the checkered flag by 0.381 seconds.

Bowman is listed at 20-1, while reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson is the 6-1 favorite in the latest 2022 Toyota Owners 400 odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Chase Elliott is 15-2 while Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. round out the top five 2022 NASCAR at Richmond contenders at 17-2. You'll want to check out the NASCAR at Richmond predictions from Micah Roberts, the legendary Vegas bookmaker who pioneered wagering on racing, before locking in any 2022 Toyota Owners 400 picks of your own.

Roberts, a former Vegas bookmaker, was the first to offer expanded NASCAR betting, and now hands out NASCAR winners to his followers on SportsLine. Roberts is the nation's premier NASCAR betting expert, and his top pick, Elliott, won the Jockey Made in America 250 last season.

He also correctly predicted the 2021 Coca-Cola 600 winner, hitting Larson's victory at 11-2 odds. The previous week, he was on point at the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix, targeting Elliott as the winner at 8-5 odds. Anyone who has followed his picks is up huge year after year.

Now, Roberts has analyzed the field and odds for Sunday's NASCAR at Richmond 2022 race. He's sharing his winner and leaderboard right here.

2022 Toyota Owners 400 expert picks

One shocker: Roberts is low on Larson, even though he's the top 2022 Toyota Owners 400 favorite. In fact, Roberts says Larson, whose only Cup Series win at Richmond came in 2017, doesn't even crack the top 10.

"He's averaged an 11th-place finish in 14 Cup Series starts at Richmond," Roberts told SportsLine. "His advantage from last season is gone because of the new car."

Another curveball: Roberts is high on Alex Bowman, even though he's a long shot at 20-1 in the latest 2022 NASCAR at Richmond odds. Last year's victory in this race was the 28-year-old native of Arizona's first of a career-high four in 2021, and he already has posted one this season. Bowman took the checkered flag at Las Vegas on March 6 and nearly grabbed another last week, when he was runner-up at Austin.

"He won this race last season and already has one victory in 2022," Roberts told SportsLine. "He looks like he's had the best Hendrick car so far."

How to make 2022 Toyota Owners 400 predictions

Roberts is high on another long shot who has performed extremely well with the NextGen car. This driver is being underestimated by oddsmakers, and anyone who backs him could hit it big. You can only see who it is, and check out the rest of Roberts' NASCAR at Richmond picks, at SportsLine.
