Through 3 Quarters

Down 14 at the end of last quarter, the Boston Celtics have now snagged the lead. It's anybody's game after three quarters, but Boston is ahead of the Golden State Warriors 84-82.

The Celtics have been led by small forward Jayson Tatum, who so far has 23 points and six assists in addition to six rebounds. One thing to keep an eye out for is Marcus Smart's foul situation as he currently sits at five.

Small forward Andrew Wiggins has led the way so far for Golden State, as he has shot 5-for-7 from downtown and has recorded 27 points and six boards.

The Warriors might be down, but they've been down at the end of the third quarter six times this season and have won 67% of those games.

What to Know

The Golden State Warriors have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Boston Celtics and are hoping to record their first win since Jan. 26 of 2019. Golden State is staying on the road Friday to face off against Boston at 7:30 p.m. ET Dec. 17 at TD Garden. The Warriors won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy a 5-point advantage in the spread.

Golden State netted a 105-96 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday. The top scorer for Golden State was point guard Stephen Curry (22 points).

Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the contest between Boston and the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday was still a pretty decisive one as the Celtics wrapped it up with a 117-103 victory at home. Small forward Jayson Tatum continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, shooting 7-for-13 from beyond the arc and finishing with 42 points and five boards.

Their wins bumped the Warriors to 23-5 and Boston to 14-14. Watch the game and check back on CBS Sports to find out who keeps up the positive energy and who hits a stumbling block.
