VIDEO: New York Rangers unveil Stadium Series jerseys
The New York Rangers revealed the jerseys they'll wear for two games at Yankee Stadium as part of the NHL's Stadium Series.
The jerseys are white with navy blue shoulders with New York diagonally across the chest. The numbers are reminiscent of those from the Lady Liberty third jerseys of the late 1990s, early 2000s. As with all Stadium Series jerseys, the logos are chrome-styled.
Defenseman Dan Girardi, who happens to share the same last name as Yankees manager Joe, has his jersey switched by the equipment manager in the jersey unveiling sketch. After Dan Girardi goes to complain about having a Yankees jersey in his stall, the video cuts to the Yankees manager’s office, where Joe Girardi is fully decked out in the Rangers’ new threads.
All-in-all, they’re not the worst jerseys in the world, but there sure seems to be a lot going on with the colors with the red, white, blue and then silver. It probably makes it a little busier than a white jersey should be, but it's not ugly by any means.
The Rangers will wear the jerseys in two games at Yankee Stadium. They'll play the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 26 and the New York Islanders on Jan. 29.
