Ryan Hamilton: Playing days over
Hamilton will join San Jose as a pro scout, per AHL.com.
Hamilton went undrafted coming out of the OHL in 2005-06 and spent the majority of his 13-year professional career playing in the minors. The winger did log 30 NHL games for the Maple Leafs and Oilers, in which he notched one goal, four assists and eight PIM. Upon hanging up his skates, the 33-year-old should provide a keen eye as a scout for the Sharks, having spent so much time playing in the AHL.

Ryan Hamilton: PTO comes to an end
Hamilton was released from his professional tryout agreement with Edmonton on Thursday.
This is an unfortunate development for Hamilton, who had only joined the Oilers' training camp Tuesday. A minor league journeyman for the vast majority of his career, Hamilton captained AHL Bakersfield -- Edmonton's minor-league affiliate -- for the past two campaigns and will be hoping to land a deal with another organization as the season approaches.

Oilers' Ryan Hamilton: Will rejoin organization for training camp
Hamilton secured a professional tryout agreement with Edmonton on Monday.
Hamilton was with the Oilers' organization on a one-year, two-way deal last season, but spent the entire year with AHL Bakersfield and it appears the team was unwilling to commit to him long-term without seeing more. The 31-year-old spent several seasons in the AHL, but has only made 30 appearances in the majors, including a 16-game stint with Edmonton in 2014-15. Even if he makes the Opening Night roster, fantasy owners will want to look elsewhere for low-end value picks.

Hamilton was reassigned to AHL Bakersfield on Friday, TSN reports.
In a largely unannounced move, Hamilton was returned to the AHL before suiting up for the Oilers. The 30-year old has played 30 NHL games in his career, and captains the Bakersfield Condors.

Hamilton has been recalled from AHL Bakersfield on an emergency basis.
Edmonton placed Benoit Pouliot (lower body) on injured reserve, opening a roster spot for Hamilton, who recorded six goals and two assists in 18 games with Bakersfield this season.
