  • Chris DiDomenico: Heading back to Switzerland

DiDomenico agreed to terms on a two-year contract with SCL Tigers (NLA) on Wednesday.

Prior to a mid-February trade, DiDomenico logged 24 games for the Senators last year. In those appearances, the center tallied six goals, four assists and 23 shots. Once the Toronto native joined the Blackhawks, he spent the rest of the campaign in the minors with AHL Rockford. It will be a homecoming of sorts for the 29-year-old, who previously spent four seasons with the Tigers from 2013-17.

  • Blackhawks' Chris DiDomenico: Traded to Chicago

The Senators traded DiDomenico to the Blackhawks in exchange for Ville Pokka on Thursday, NHL.com's Tracey Myers reports.

The Blackhawks probably weren't going to sign Pokka to another extension this offseason, so they decided to cut their losses and deal the 23-year-old blueliner in exchange for a veteran pivot who has shown he can produce in a bottom-six role at the NHL level. DiDomenico will report to AHL Rockford, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend some time with the big club before the 2017-18 campaign comes to a close.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Placed on waivers

The Senators waived Didomenico on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

The Senators just acquired Nick Shore in a trade with the Kings, so they're no longer in need of DiDomenico's services as a bottom-six forward. If he goes unclaimed, the 28-year-old pivot will be assigned to AHL Belleville.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Returns to Ottawa

DiDomenico was recalled to Ottawa on Monday.

DiDomenico skated twice for AHL Belleville over the weekend, making it clear he was moved down to get him more game experience during the All-Star break. With that behind him, he should be spending the rest of the season in Ottawa.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Re-assigned to AHL

DiDomenico was moved down to AHL Belleville on Friday.

This seems strange considering that DiDomenico has logged above 15 minutes of ice time in each of the Senators' past three games. However, this might be an effort to keep DiDomenico active, as the AHL Senators play two games this weekend, while the NHL Senators enter the All-Star break. If he's on your roster, it's a good idea to hold onto him for now, as he might be recalled next week when Ottawa returns to action.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Picks up point in defeat

DiDomenico set up Matt Duchene's goal in a 3-1 loss to Minnesota on Monday.

DiDomenico made his first NHL game of 2018 count, earning his fourth assist in the 14 games he's played this season. He also cracked 20 shifts for the first time since October, which says that Guy Boucher might be open to giving him a long look after promoting him from AHL Belleville. At a minimum, he'll be with Ottawa through Tuesday's game in St. Louis and could stick around a little longer, making him a potential budget play in daily leagues.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Promoted from minors

DiDomenico was recalled from AHL Belleville on Monday.

DiDomenico's call-up doesn't bode well for Nate Thompson's (lower body) availability for Monday's tilt with the Wild. The 28-year-old DiDomenico has tallied 13 goals in 23 outings this season and will be hard pressed to crack his way into coach Guy Boucher's lineup versus Minnesota. If the center does suit up, it would likely come at the expense of Filip Chlapik.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Sent back to minors

DiDomenico was sent back to AHL Belleville on Saturday.

DiDomenico was called up to shore up an injury-riddled offensive unit in Ottawa, but with four days off, his services aren't needed for the time being. If Bobby Ryan (finger) isn't healed by Wednesday, though, DiDomenico will likely be called up again.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Reeled in by Senators

DiDomenico was recalled from AHL Belleville on Friday.

The rookie centerman has missed the past 15 games, as he was claimed off waivers by the Lightning, only to go full circle back to Ottawa on a separate claim with the Bolts dropping him after only a week's time. DiDomenico is a skilled offensive producer -- he's dropped three goals and six points over 12 NHL games this season -- but Tampa Bay had concerns about his conditioning. It's best to take a wait-and-see approach with the 28-year-old.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Claimed by Ottawa

DiDomenico was claimed off waivers by the Senators on Saturday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

DiDomenico was placed on waivers just over a week ago by the Senators and subsequently claimed by the Lightning, but he'll head back to his former team after being waived again. The 28-year-old has put up decent numbers this season for the Sens when given the opportunity, collecting six points (three goals, three assists) over 12 games.

  • Lightning's Chris DiDomenico: Waived by team

DiDomenico (undisclosed) was placed on waivers Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

DiDomenico was in the minors on a conditioning assignment, but appears back to 100 percent and ready to join the Crunch full time. The 28-year-old notched six points in 12 games with Ottawa earlier in the year before Tampa Bay snagged him off waivers. Whether the center clears this time around remains to be seen, but assuming he does, he would likely be on the short list of call-ups for coach Jon Cooper throughout the rest of the season.

  • Lightning's Chris DiDomenico: Sent down for conditioning

DiDomenico was assigned to AHL Syracuse for conditioning purposes Saturday.

The Bolts acquired DiDomenico (formerly with the Senators) via the waiver wire Friday, but evidently determined that his conditioning wasn't quite up to snuff. Once he does get into shape, the Ontario native could resume turning heads as a sharp-shooting pivot who is accustomed to working with the man advantage. After all, he'd only been averaging 10:41 of ice time with Ottawa, but still managed three goals and three assists with half of that total taking place on the man advantage in 12 games prior to getting waived.

  • Lightning's Chris DiDomenico: Claimed by Tampa Bay

The Lightning claimed DiDomenico from Ottawa off waivers Friday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

DiDomenico had been productive in limited action with the Senators this campaign, tallying three goals and three assists in 12 games, so it's not surprising to see that another NHL club decided he was worth claiming. He'll bolster Tampa Bay's depth up front, but he'll likely have a limited role with his new team, which will keep him from being a desirable option in most season-long fantasy formats.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Placed on waivers

DiDomenico was placed on waivers by the Senators on Thursday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

DiDomenico has been active for most of the Senators' games in November, but his ice time has been fairly limited. The team will now expose the center to waivers to see if another team is willing to take on his salary.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Gets third goal of season

DiDomenico scored a third-period goal in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over Colorado in Sweden.

DiDomenico was shut out in his past two games, but he bounced back well for Game 1 of Ottawa's trip to Sweden. He's making a case for more ice time even when regulars like Bobby Ryan (finger) return, but it's more likely that his opportunities are tied to the Senators missing some of their more high-profile options.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Posts another multi-point performance

DiDomenico recorded a goal and an assist on the power play during Monday's 8-3 loss to Montreal.

Don't look now, but DiDomenico sports a three-game point streak with two goals and three assists. He's seen an increase in ice time as a result, and the diminutive winger could continue to see offensive looks if he keeps chipping in offensively. It's not out of the question to consider adding DiDomenico in cavernous settings, but just remember, the 28-year-old has only suited up for nine NHL games for a reason.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Scores tying goal in loss

DiDomenico scored his first NHL goal and added an assist in 5-4 shootout loss to New Jersey on Friday.

DiDomenico showed scoring potential in Switzerland and at AHL Belleville, but had yet to produce at the NHL level to this point. This was a nice step for him, but he's probably not a fantasy option long term, as his opportunity will likely dry up when the Senators' regulars return from injuries.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Promoted to big club

The Senators recalled DiDomenico from AHL Belleville on Friday.

Zack Smith is expected to be sidelined for at least a week due to an upper-body injury, so DiDomenico will round out Ottawa's depth at forward until Smith is fit to return. The 28-year-old pivot leads AHL Belleville with three goals and five points in four games this campaign.

  • Senators' Chris DiDomenico: Waived for reassignment

DiDomenico was placed on waivers by the Senators on Friday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

DiDomenico spent the past two seasons playing for the Langnau Tigers of the Swiss league, where he tallied 76 points in 94 outings. The center did log three contests for Ottawa during the 2016-17 campaign, but averaged a mere 11:01 of ice time in those appearances and failed to register a point. If he clears waivers, the 28-year-old will likely be reassigned to AHL Belleville.
