  • Andrey Pedan: Heading to KHL

Pedan signed a deal with KHL team Ak Bars on Tuesday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.

Pedan -- who was part of the Penguins' Black Aces call-ups -- will apparently link up with Ak Bars next season. The 24-year-old spent the entire 2017-18 campaign with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he notched 26 points in 52 appearances. The blueliner is scheduled to be a restricted free agent in the offseason, so Pittsburgh will presumably retain his rights when he heads overseas.

  • Penguins' Andrey Pedan: Returns to AHL

Pedan was sent down to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Pedan spent just three days with the big club before being sent back down. The 24-year-old defenseman failed to see the ice in his time with the Penguins.

  • Penguins' Andrey Pedan: Recalled by big club

The Penguins recalled Pedan from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.

Chad Ruhwedel is considered week-to-week with an upper-body ailment, so Pedan will join the Penguins as the team's seventh defenseman until Ruhwedel is cleared to play. The 6-foot-5 blueliner has picked up two goals and 10 points in 26 games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this campaign.

  • Penguins' Andrey Pedan: Traded away by Vancouver

Pedan was acquired by the Penguins from the Canucks on Tuesday -- along with a 2018 fourth-round pick -- in exchange for Derrick Pouliot.

Pedan -- who was waived by Vancouver on Monday -- will provide organizational depth for the Penguins, but is unlikely to suit up in the NHL this season -- barring a rash of blue line injuries. Last year in the minors, the 24-year-old notched just 10 points in 52 outings, so even if he does crack Pittsburgh's game-day lineup, his fantasy value will be low-end at best given his lack of offensive productivity.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Headed for waiver wire

Pedan was placed on waivers Monday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

It looks like the 2011 third-rounder will need to keep waiting to make his NHL debut, as he's likely to be reassigned to AHL Utica upon clearing waivers. Pedan managed 10 points and a whopping 100 PIM in 52 AHL games last year, so if he can shore up his offensive game in his age-24 season, he has an outside shot at delivering value one day in the deepest leagues given his penchant for the penalty box.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Re-signs with Vancouver

Pedan agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with the Canucks on Wednesday, per agent Dan Milstein.

Pedan spent the entire 2016-17 campaign in the minors with AHL Utica. While playing for the Comets, the defenseman tallied 10 points while racking up 100 PIM. Even if he does secure regular ice time with Vancouver next year, the 23-year-old is unlikely to suddenly start scoring with frequency, so he doesn't project to be a fantasy asset outside of leagues that count hits and PIM.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Headed back to Utica

Pedan was reassigned to AHL Utica on Thursday.

Pedan wasn't able to snag a spot in the Vancouver lineup during this stint with the big club, so he'll head back down to the minors in favor of Jordan Subban. The 23-year-old blueliner is not known for his offensive prowess; in fact, he's never managed to record more than 21 points in any of his AHL seasons.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Recalled from minors

Pedan was called up from AHL Utica on Tuesday.

With Ben Hutton (upper body) becoming the third Vancouver defenseman to hit injured reserve, the team needed extra depth, especially with a two-game road trip starting Tuesday. Pedan will offer that security, although he is unlikely to crack the lineup over Nikita Tryamkin or Chris Tanev.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Demoted back to minors

Pedan was reassigned to AHL Utica on Monday.

Pedan returns to the minors after failing to crack the lineup. The blueliner has just 13 games under his belt from the 2015-16 season. Through 19 minor league appearances, the 23-year-old has garnered a paltry three points, so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that the team are sending him back in order to further develop his game.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Promoted to big club

The Canucks recalled Pedan from AHL Utica on Saturday.

Pedan's promotion indicates Troy Stecher (undisclosed) likely won't be available for Sunday's game against the Blue Jackets. However, Stecher's ailment isn't believed to be overly serious, so Pedan's stay with the big club will likely be short lived. The 23-year-old blueliner has three points in 19 games with AHL Utica this season, and won't be worth deploying in daily formats if he cracks the lineup against Columbus.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Sent to AHL Utica

Pedan was reassigned to AHL Utica on Sunday.

Pedan still hasn't gotten into a game this year with the Canucks, as he's served as a healthy scratch in every game while up with the big club. He hasn't done much at the AHL level (three points, 30 PIM in 18 gams this year), so it's not really surprising to see him sent down.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Recalled from AHL

Pedan was called up from the minors Thursday.

With three defensemen on injured reserve, the Canucks recalled Pedan to provide some much-needed depth. If the 23-year-old cracks the lineup, it will be his first appearance for Vancouver this season. Through 18 minor league outings, the Lithuanian has three points and 30 PIM.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Hits waiver wire Friday

Pedan was waived by the Canucks on Friday, as well as forwards Jayson Megna, Michael Chaput, and Mike Zalewski, the Vancouver Province reports.

Pedan is expected to play for AHL Utica in the likely event that he clears waivers. The towering defenseman from Lithuania was blanked offensively in 13 games with the Canucks last season, but appeared quite comfortable developing in the minors, as he produced seven goals, 14 assists, 87 PIM, and a plus-17 rating with the Comets over 45 contests.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Finalizes one-year, two-way deal

Pedan agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Vancouver on Tuesday.

Pedan appeared in 13 contests for the Canucks last season in which he logged 10:57 in ice time per night while also recording 18 PIM. The blueliner has yet to record his first NHL point and will likely see only a minor uptick in the number of games he plays during the 2016-17 campaign, thereby limiting his fantasy value.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Sent down to minors

Pedan was reassigned to AHL Utica on Tuesday.

Pedan will join the Comets who have already secured their spot in the Calder Cup playoffs. In 42 AHL games this season, the blueliner has tallied 20 points but was unable to get on the scoresheet in his 13 outings in the majors. This will be a quality development opportunity for the 22-year-old.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Recalled from AHL

Pedan was recalled from AHL Utica on Tuesday.

The Canucks are dealing with a host of injuries on the blueline, with Alexander Edler ruled out for the season and Lucas Sbisa apparently suffering a serious injury Monday. Pedan has impressed thus far in the AHL, amassing 20 points and a plus-19 rating through 42 games, so he should find his way into the parent club's lineup.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Reassigned to AHL Utica

Pedan was reassigned to AHL Utica on Tuesday.

Pedan's demotion likely indicates that Luca Sbisa, who has missed the Canucks' last 17 games with a hand injury, is on the verge of returning to action. Pedan suited up for two contests during his most recent stay with the big club, registering three shots on goal and three blocked shots in those games.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Recalled from AHL Utica

Pedan was recalled from AHL Utica on Saturday.

Pedan has been recalled to serve as Vancouver's extra defenseman with Luca Sbisa sidelined with a hand injury and Dan Hamhuis having had his jaw broken. Sbisa is expected to return around Christmas, so expect Pedan to get a look on the Canucks' blueline in the coming weeks.

The big defenseman played just one game since his recall on November 23, logging 3:54 of ice while playing as a fourth-line forward. Ronalds Kenins, a forward, has been recalled in favor of Pedan.

  • Canucks' Andrey Pedan: Recalled from AHL

Pedan was recalled from AHL Utica on Monday.

Pedan had gotten off to a successful start to the season with the AHL club, recording seven points (six assists) and a team-leading 28 penalty minutes through 15 contests. With the corresponding reassignment of Taylor Fedun, Pedan figures to serve as an extra defenseman.
