2018 Winter Olympics Medal Tracker: USA adds historic gold in cross-country skiing

Kikkan Randall and Jessie Diggins have done something no one from Team USA has ever done -- win gold in cross-country skiing's team sprint. The only other cross-country medal in the country's history came in 1976, when Bill Koch won silver. Randall and Diggins edged Sweden by 0.19 seconds to win the historic gold medal.

Lindsey Vonn, a once-in-a-generation ski talent, added to her Olympic medal collection on Wednesday morning in South Korea after settling for the bronze in the downhill. Vonn, 33, was aiming to become the oldest woman to ever win a gold in the downhill but was beat by her good friend, Italy's Sofia Goggia. Goggia crossed in 1 minute, 39.22 seconds and in doing so became the first Italian woman to ever win gold in the event.

Freestyle halfpipe skier Brita Sigourney and the ice dancing duo  of Maia and Alex Shibutani -- better known as the Shib Sibs -- delivered Team USA two more medals at the 2018 Winter Olympics during Monday night's primetime NBC broadcast. Sigourney took the bronze in the 12-skier final that was won by Canada's Cassie Sharpe while the Shibutanis turned in a magical performance in the final night of ice dancing to secure the bronze.

Here's where Team USA currently sits in the medal count:
