Manchester United has its eye on a trophy this season, and it will try to ease past pesky host Wolverhampton on Sunday in an English Premier League match. Man U finished second in the league table last season. It routed Leeds 5-1 to kick off this campaign but followed that with a 1-1 draw against Southampton last Sunday. But the Red Devils spent a lot of money in the summer and announced the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo on Friday, so hopes are still still soaring.

Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. ET in Wolverhampton, England. Caesars Sportsbook lists Man U as the -140 favorite (risk $140 to win $100) in its latest Wolverhampton vs. Manchester United odds, with Wolves the +400 underdog and a draw priced at +265. The over-under for total goals scored is set at 2.5. • Wolverhampton vs. Man United money line: Wolverhampton +400, Man U -140, Draw +265

  • Man U: Jadon Sanco had 37 goals and 41 assists over the past three seasons.

Why you should back Manchester United

The Red Devils are unbeaten in their past 27 road games (17-10-0) and can set the league record with a win or draw on Sunday. They excelled on the road in 2020-21, going 12-7-0 with a plus-19 goal differential, while Wolves were 7-4-8 and scored just 21 goals in 19 home matches. Man U won 2-1 at Molineux to close last season and is unbeaten in the past six meetings (3-3-0). Raphael Varane, one of the big signings this summer, is expected to get his first start and joins a solid defense that also includes Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw.

The Man U attack is loaded, with Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood leading the way and Paul Pogba and new addition Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund all capable of huge plays. Fernandes tied for third in the EPL with 18 goals and was second with 12 assists last season, and he had a hat trick in the opener. The 19-year-old Greenwood has scored in both games, while Pogba already has five assists.

Why you should back Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton hasn't lost consecutive home league meetings with Man U since 1967, and while it hasn't scored yet this season, it is second in the league in shots. It has 42, second only to Liverpool's 46, and is tied for sixth-most shots on target (nine) of the 20 teams. It's a matter of time before an attack led by Raul Jimenez starts making those shots count, and United has conceded in eight of its last nine matches. Jimenez was on pace for a third straight season with double-digit goals, with four in 10 matches, last year before a serious head injury sidelined him.

He is one of the most reliable strikers in the Premier League and is joined in attack by Adama Traore and Francisco Trincao. Traore is second in the league in shots with 10, just behind West Ham's Michail Antonio (11), but has scored just twice in his last 74 shots in league play. The 21-year-old Trincao scored three goals and had two assists while starting only three of his 28 appearances for Barcelona last season. Wolves lost 1-0 to both Leicester and Tottenham, with one goal coming on a penalty, and goalkeeper Jose Sa has saved nine of 10 shots on net.
