Lionel Messi, from afar, may seem like a kind, respectful professional soccer player, and that is the general perception. But if you get on his bad side, he doesn't mind dishing out a plate of interesting words to let you know how he feels.
As Barcelona inched closer to La Liga glory at the weekend with a 5-0 win over city rival Espanyol, Messi defended teammate Luis Suarez by going after goalkeeper Pau Lopez.
Lopez and Suarez had gone back and forth in the match, with the goalkeeper kicking the former Liverpool man when he was down.
Messi decided to talk a little trash to the goalkeeper, and Lopez going after Suarez probably reminded the Argentine of another meeting this season where this happened, further adding to his anger.
So here comes Messi to dish out some special words.
"Get out of here, dumb***. Get out of here, jerk," Messi said.
Mighty Messi in a way we so rarely see him. Maybe it's the beard that gave him some added toughness?
But that was just part of the battle with Lopez. Here's a look at how Suarez and Messi went out of their way to ruin his day.
