The second round of the 2022 Women's NCAA Tournament wrapped up after some exciting games on Monday. While there were no huge upsets, there were some games that were not decided until the last few seconds.

The No. 1 seeds South Carolina, Louisville and Stanford held strong to continue proving why they earned those spots in the first day of the second round. Meanwhile, the No. 1 seed NC State Wolfpack got the job done on the second day with a confident win over Kansas State.

Monday saw three double-digit seed teams put up fights in their respective games, but none of them were able to pull off an upset.  Eight double-digit seeds picked up wins in this year's Women's NCAA Tournament, which is tied for the most ever. There were also eight wins in 2018.

  • No. 1 seed NC State got an 89-57 win over No. 9 Kansas State with a great offensive effort from the entire team, including 5-of-5 shooting from three-point range from Diamond Jonson coming from the bench. NC State is heading to its fourth consecutive Sweet 16, which is a program-record streak.
  • No. 5 seed Notre Dame advanced after an 108-64 win over No. 4 seed Oklahoma. This was a program record for the Fighting Irish for most points in an NCAA Tournament game. The previous high score for Notre Dame was 99 points against Ohio State in 2017 in the Sweet 16 round. This was also the first 100+ point game in the 2022 Women's NCAA Tournament.
  • No. 4 seed Tennessee barely escaped an upset to a persistent No. 12 seed Belmont team with a 70-67 victory. Belmont climbed back from a 14-point deficit and found the lead with under 2:30 remaining. Tennessee's Sarah Puckett hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left to give her team the final lead they would need to advance to the Sweet 16.
  • No. 1 seed UConn struggled offensively but still pushed past a strong defensive UCF team with a 52-47 win. The Huskies are heading to their 28th straight Sweet 16 round, a streak that began in 1994. That is the most consecutive Sweet 16 appearances in NCAA Tournament history.
  • No. 2 seed North Carolina found a 20-point lead after three quarters and did not lose control as No. 4 seed Arizona looked for a comeback. Three Tar Heels reach double digits in the 63-45 victory, with sophomore guard Kennedy Todd-Williams leading all scorers with 19 points going 7-of-11 from the field.

Final: North Carolina 63, Arizona 45

No. 4 seed Arizona tried to climb back from a 20-point deficit from the first three quarters, but the fourth period was not enough time for the Wildcats to achieve that. The No. 5 seed Tar Heels had three starters reach double figures with sophomore guard Kennedy Todd-Williams registering 19 points going 7-of-11 from the field. The Wildcats hit seven three-pointers, but North Carolina was the better team offensively outshooting Arizona 41.2% - 28.8% throughout the night.

Final: UConn 52, UCF 47

The No. 2 seed Huskies scored well below their season average of 75 points per game, but still survived a tough effort by the No. 7 seed Knights. They will be heading to their 28th straight Sweet 16. The UCF defense held UConn to 29.2% from the field. The Huskies also did not make a field goal in the last five minutes of the game. UConn freshman guard Azzi Fudd lead all scorers with 16 points, including four of the six three-pointers for her team.

Halftime: North Carolina 28, Arizona 17

The Tar Heels sprinted out to a 23-9 second quarter lead, thanks to some hot shooting early and eight first half Wildcats turnovers. Deja Kelly had a tough first half, shooting just 1-for-6 from the field, bur Kennedy Todd-Williams picked up the slack with 7 points on 3-for-6 shooting. Sam Thomas is keeping Arizona within striking distance -- she's got nine points on 3-of-5 shooting from deep. Arizona is trying to recapture last year's magic from their run all the way to the national championship game where they came up short to conference rival Stanford.

End of 3rd: UConn 38, UCF 30

The Huskies went on a 9-0 run in the last five minutes of the third quarter. The Knights' strength is defense, and it's definitely showing. However, it has been a poor shooting game overall with both teams under 32% from the field. The only player in double figures is UCF's Diamond Battles with 10 points going 3-of-10 from the field.

Final: Ohio State 79, LSU 64

No. 6 seed Ohio State got a double-digit win over No. 3 seed LSU to advance to the Buckeyes' first Sweet 16 round since 2017. The Tigers were not an easy team to beat, as they attempted a comeback after being down by as many as 24-points. Senior guard Khayla Pointer gave LSU a 32-point performance. Junior guard Jacy Sheldon led the winning offense with 23 points and eight assists.

Final: Indiana 56. Princeton 55

Through the full game, Indiana was shooting around 50% from the field while holding Princeton to just over 30%. However the Tigers outscored Indiana in the third period and found themselves with a one-point lead with 1:12 left in the fourth. Grace Berger tied it for Indiana with a free throw with 58 seconds remaining and hit a layup with 31 seconds left to get a two-point advantage. Aleksa Gulbe added two more points from the charity line for Indiana with a second remaining. Princeton's Abby Meyers hit a three-pointer as the clock expired but it wasn't enough. With this win, the Hoosiers have punched their second straight Sweet 16 ticket.
