Why UConn can cover

The Huskies are on a mission as they need one victory to secure their 14th consecutive appearance in the Final Four. Senior guard Christyn Williams is first on UConn with an average of 14.5 points and shared the team lead in the win against the Hoosiers with 15 on 7-of-11 shooting. Sophomore guard Paige Bueckers also finished with 15 while Azzi Fudd sank a trio of 3-pointers en route to 13 points.

A freshman guard, Fudd had converted at least three attempts from beyond the arc in each of UConn's three Women's NCAA Tournament games. In fact, all 10 of her field goals during March Madness have come from long distance. Senior forward Olivia Nelson-Ododa, who leads the Huskies in rebounding (7.6) and assists (3.6), posted her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 boards against Indiana while sophomore Aaliyah Edwards nearly notched her first as she finished with nine and 10, respectively.

Why NC State can cover

Elissa Cunane recorded a team-high 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Sweet 16 victory against Notre Dame for her ninth double-double of the season. The senior center leads the Wolfpack with averages of 13.6 points and 7.6 boards. Cunane, who was named MVP during NC State's run to the ACC Tournament championship, has scored at least 10 points in 10 of her last 11 outings.

Kai Crutchfield is coming off one of her best offensive performances of the season. The senior guard, who is averaging 6.4 points, reached double digits for the first time in nine games as she scored 14 against the Fighting Irish. The Wolfpack have done well against nationally ranked teams in 2021-22, setting a single-season school record with nine victories.
