The 2016-17 All-NBA teams have been announced, and the names on the first team come as no surprise.
The first team is made up of the Rockets' James Harden, the Cavaliers' LeBron James, the Thunder's Russell Westbrook, the Spurs' Kawhi Leonard and the Pelicans' Anthony Davis, four of which will likely be the front-runners for this year's MVP award.
James was named to the First Team for the 11th time, joining Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone as the only players in league history to accomplish the feat. James received 99 out of a possible 100 First Team votes -- Harden was the only player to receive 100.
Meanwhile the Golden State Warriors, who put together the best record in the league, landed both Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant on the second team, to go along with Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas, Utah defensive stalwart Rudy Gobert and Milwaukee's promising young forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Perhaps an even bigger story than the players who made the teams is the notable names that didn't. Paul George and Gordon Hayward both failed to make any of the three teams, meaning that they are not eligible for contracts that could have earned them an extra $30 million or so. It makes it easier for Hawyard, who is a free agent this summer, to leave Utah, while the trade market for George opens up considerably.
