After sitting out most of the season due to a non-life threatening vascular condition, Cincinnati men's basketball coach Mick Cronin can resume coaching duties, the school announced Monday.

"Obviously, I'm excited to be coaching again, but most importantly, I'm grateful to be 100 percent healthy," Cronin said.

Cronin was dealing with a vascular condition known as arterial dissection, but he has been given a clean bill of health and has no restrictions.

He coached the first nine games of the 2014-15 season before taking a leave of absence due to the condition. Associate coach Larry Davis took over Cronin's coaching responsibilities and led the Bearcats to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.

"We are pleased Mick is able to fully resume his coaching duties," director of athletics Mike Bohn said. "His behind-the-scenes leadership was critical in last season's success coupled with Larry's direction and the players' focus on the court throughout the year."
