The second game of this Saturday's SEC on CBS doubleheader is the yearly rivalry game between No. 9 Auburn and Georgia.

The Tigers are still keeping hope alive of a potential SEC title with Georgia as the last in-conference hurdle to cross before the Iron Bowl in two weeks against Alabama. While Auburn is holding onto College Football Playoff hopes, Georgia needs just one more win to get bowl eligible and is coming off of a last-second win over Kentucky last Saturday.

Storylines

Auburn: The Tigers just need to keep doing what they've been doing on the ground. Vanderbilt's defense presented them with some problems, but Auburn still rushed for 271 yards on the Commodores. Finishing drives with touchdowns rather than field goals will be something Gus Malzahn harps on with his team this week after three field goals against Vanderbilt helped keep the Commodores in the game.

Even still, the Tigers' offense has found its mojo and is rolling with either Sean White or John Franklin III at quarterback. Georgia's defense has been very good against the run this season, but have yet to face an offense like Auburn's. Ole Miss and North Carolina, both operating out of the spread, have had the most success against Georgia's run defense this season. If the Tigers can average 5 yards per carry -- as they have in all but one game since the LSU win -- then they will likely walk out of Athens with their seventh straight win.

Georgia: Since the LSU game, no team has rushed for more than 120 yards on the Auburn defense in a game or averaged more than 3.64 yards per carry. Georgia will not want to drop Jacob Eason back 35 times on Saturday to throw the ball, especially with how talented Carl Lawson and the Auburn pass rush is.

That means the Bulldogs need to figure out how LSU and Texas A&M opened up the Auburn front for big chunks of yards on the ground and find a way to replicate that on Saturday. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel are as talented a running back tandem as there is in the nation, but they need the offensive line's help to get going. The Kentucky game should give them confidence, but Auburn's defense is far stronger than the Wildcats. If Georgia can run the dang ball on Saturday and keep the Auburn offense off the field, the Bulldogs might just have a shot.

Players to watch

Carl Lawson, DE, Auburn: We talk a lot about Myles Garrett, Derek Barnett and [insert name here from Alabama], but Carl Lawson deserves similar praise. Finally healthy, Lawson has 19 tackles (10 for loss) and 8.5 sacks on the season from his defensive end spot. If Georgia has to throw the football on Saturday in an effort to play catch up, look for Lawson to eat up the Bulldogs tackles and create serious pressure on Eason.

Tyler Catalina, LT, Georgia: The man tasked with protecting Eason and who will deal with Lawson for much of the day is Tyler Catalina. He has had a rough season so far -- as has most of the Georgia offensive line -- and if you are hearing his No. 72 talked about a lot on the broadcast, that likely won't bode well for the Bulldogs. If you don't hear Lawson's name much and you don't hear 72 called often, that means he's doing well and keeping Eason's backside clean. Georgia needs Catalina to have his best game of the season against Auburn in order to pull off the upset.

Matchup to watch

Georgia linebackers vs. Auburn option: Slowing down Auburn's rushing attack takes tremendous eye discipline and a commitment to filling your gap and maintaining your assignment on every play. Georgia's linebackers will be tested all game by the option attack and if they leave their assignments too often, they will pay the price in the form of Auburn ripping off big chunk yardage in the rushing game.

Auburn's offense is frustrating to face because so often as a player, you play the right assignment and the ball goes the other direction. However, the moment you try to guess the movement and chase away from your gap, the Tigers will exploit it for big yards and possibly points. The ability of Georgia's linebackers to be patient all afternoon will be crucial to their ability to slow the rushing attack of the Tigers.
