Troy and South Alabama wanted to spice up their rivalry game, being that they share a state and conference. Rather than come up with a trophy somehow combining Trojans and Jaguars, they just decided to play for a championship belt.
Saturday, when the Jaguars and Trojans meet, this sweet title belt will be on the line.
I fully support all endeavors to bring championship belts to sports outside of fighting because they are so much better than most rivalry trophies.
