Both LSU and Alabama are taking the week off as they prepare for their game against one another on Nov. 5, but we've already got some bulletin board material ahead of schedule.
It comes courtesy of LSU defensive back Dwayne Thomas, who is one of five players on the roster that have been witness to LSU's last four losses against Alabama. This season's game will be his final chance to pick up a win against the Tide, and Thomas isn't being shy about what he thinks is going to happen.
"I really see us dominating this offense. I really see us dominating this team," said Thomas. "This is the year. We've been letting them off the hook for the last couple of years. This is my senior year. We're going out with a bang. It's time for us to bring that win back. We're going to be at home. I feel like we have the edge to take it to them, and we're going to take it to them.
"I feel like we're going to dominate this game."
Now, you might think this is a dumb thing for Thomas to say, but I'm not sure I feel the same way. I mean, I don't think LSU is going to dominate Alabama -- even if it beats it -- but it's not like these comments are really going to add fuel to Alabama's fire.
The Tide already wants to beat LSU, and knows it has to beat LSU. It's not like Alabama wasn't taking LSU seriously, and now these comments are going to turn the -- ahem -- tide.
Having said all that, I seem to recall an old saying about bears and whether or not it is wise to poke them.
