LAS VEGAS -- NCAA president Mark Emmert’s leadership abilities will be at least a discussion point during Friday’s meeting of Mountain West presidents here, multiple sources within the conference told CBSSports.com.

While one source said Emmert’s status was an “agenda item” that would go as far as to discuss a vote to endorse his possible ouster, other sources said there will merely be a discussion about the embattled NCAA leader. The discussion has been advanced by New Mexico president Robert Frank, according to two sources within the conference. Another source was aware of “concerns” by Frank regarding Emmert.

The presidents’ meeting is regularly scheduled during the Mountain West tournament.

CBSSports.com reported in February the existence of a memo distributed among MWC presidents questioning NCAA leadership. Shortly thereafter, the Mountain West released a statement stating it wanted “to work within established [NCAA] governance guidelines.”

Frank, a New Mexuco grad and former Kent State provost, took office June 1. The Lobos are the top seed this week in the Mountain West tournament.
