Report: Ohio St. DL Tracy Sprinkle charged with drug possession, rioting

Ohio State redshirt freshman defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle was arrested early Saturday and charged with multiple offenses including possession of cocaine, according to multiple reports. He has been indefinitely suspended.

Per the Columbus Dispatch, Sprinkle was arrested between 2 and 3 a.m. Saturday following an "incident at a bar" in Lorain, Ohio, near Sprinkle's hometown of Elyria. He has been charged with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and rioting and failure to disperse. A Lorain City Jail official said Sprinkle was still being held as of 10 p.m. Saturday.

The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reviewed the Lorain police report Sunday, which alleged that Sprinkle was arrested following a "large fight" involving as many as 50 people in the parking lot of Lorain's Grown and Sexy Lounge.

Per police, Sprinkle was placed in the back seat of a police car, and after he had been moved to the city jail, police found a small amount of cocaine in two plastic bags hidden under the back seat.

An Ohio State spokesman confirmed Sprinkle's indefinite suspension Sunday.

Sprinkle was a three-star defensive end and early-enrollee in Ohio State's class of 2013 before redshirting last fall.
