The SEC season ended, fittingly, with Alabama dominating the opposition in the SEC Championship Game in a 54-16 win over Florida.

The Tide head to the College Football Playoff as the No. 1 seed while every other team in the SEC is looking at a loss column with a "4" or higher in it. The separation between Alabama and the other 13 teams was evident all year, and the Tide will be the wire-to-wire champions of this year's SEC Power Rankings.

The week off for everyone outside of Alabama and Florida means the rest of the rankings stay stagnant, but here are how the SEC Power Rankings look going into bowl season:

1. Alabama

The Tide's average margin of victory in SEC play this year was 24.9 points with only the Ole Miss game being decided by single digits. That's about as dominant as it gets in the SEC, and now Alabama moves on to some real competition in the College Football Playoff. Last week: 1

2. Auburn

Auburn finishes the season as the second-highest ranked SEC team, which is good enough to earn an Sugar Bowl berth against Oklahoma. The Tigers improved dramatically from the 2015 campaign and, if they can figure out the quarterback situation, the future looks bright for 2017. Last week: 2

3. LSU

Coach O did enough to keep the coaching job full-time going into 2017, and if the Tigers can cap off the season with a victory over Lamar Jackson and Louisville in the Citrus Bowl, it would be a strong end to a somewhat disappointing season. Last week: 3

4. Florida

I wasn't totally sure what to do about Florida, but I'm not going to penalize the Gators too much for getting smacked in the face by Alabama because they at least went down swinging. Florida's only chance to beat the Tide -- and it was the slimmest of chances -- was to play really good defense and throw the ball down the field a lot on offense. The defense held up its end of the bargain for a quarter and a half, and the offensive strategy worked on the first drive of the game and on a few other occasions. Florida, with tons of injuries, just didn't have the defensive depth to hold up or the talent at quarterback to make it work for four quarters. Now, the Gators head to the Outback Bowl to face Iowa in a game that might not reach 20 total points. Last week: 4

5. Kentucky

The 'Cats are still reveling in their incredible upset of Louisville, as they should be. Big Blue Nation will have the better part of three more weeks of enjoying that before they slay some taxes against the bees, as Kentucky landed in the TaxSlayer Bowl opposite Georgia Tech on New Year's Eve. Last week: 5

6. Vanderbilt

It's still amazing to me that the two hottest non-Alabama teams in the SEC to end the year are Vanderbilt and Kentucky. That pretty much sums up this season in the SEC. The 'Dores will be off to Shreveport, Louisiana, to face NC State in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 26 to try and complete their first seven-win season since 2013. Last week: 6

7. Mississippi State

Mississippi State will head to a bowl game thanks to its closing win over Ole Miss and a solid APR ranking despite being 5-7. The Bulldogs are heavily favored to improve to 6-7 in the St. Petersburg Bowl against Miami (OH). Last week: 7

8. Tennessee

If Tennessee had won against Vanderbilt, there was a realistic shot that the Volunteers could have snuck into the Sugar Bowl since they still ended up only seven spots back of Auburn with the loss. Instead, the Vols make the short trip to Nashville for the Music City Bowl where they will face Nebraska. Last week: 8

9. Texas A&M

Kevin Sumlin got a vote of confidence recently, which means he'll be squarely on the hot seat going into 2017. The Aggies head off to the Texas Bowl in Houston to face former Big 12 foe Kansas State. Last week: 9

10. Missouri

Missouri can hang out here until the post-bowl rankings and continue to feel good about beating Arkansas in an impressive comeback in the season finale. Last week: 10

11. Arkansas

The loss to Missouri is still bad, but the Razorbacks are still bowling and headed to Charlotte for the Belk Bowl against ACC runner-up Virginia Tech. Last week: 11

12. Georgia

The Bulldogs will look to end Kirby Smart's inaugural season in Athens with a winning record as they will take on TCU in the Liberty Bowl. Last week: 12

13. South Carolina

The Gamecocks get to go bowling, which is a fairly impressive feat for coach Will Muschamp in his first season in Columbia. Unfortunately for the Gamecocks, they are big underdogs in the Birmingham Bowl against USF. Last week: 13

14. Ole Miss

No bowl game for Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss. We won't see the Rebels again until the season opener against South Alabama on Sept. 2, 2017. Last week: 14
