If there was any team that could use a quiet offseason without key returning starters getting arrested for off-campus fighting, it might be 2-10 UConn. Sorry Huskies.
Per the Associated Press, senior starting tight end Sean McQuillan was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct after an incident at an off-campus apartment complex.
According to police, officers responded to reports of a fight at the complex at approximately 11 p.m. Friday and found a victim who'd suffered "significant facial injuries." McQuillan was arrested, booked, and later released on a $500 bond.
UConn spokesperson Mike Enright told the AP that the school is aware of the incident, but did not comment further.
As a fourth-year junior in 2014, McQuillan started 11 games and finished with 16 catches for 158 yards -- both good for fourth on the Huskies roster. He caught 25 passes in nine games in 2013.
