Sandoval (knee) took groundballs Friday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list, Jen McCaffrey of MassLive.com reports.
There had been talk about Sandoval beginning a rehabilitation assignment this week, but it looks like that notion has been pushed back to next week as the Red Sox monitor his lateral movement.
