Rieder scored a shorthanded goal and added an assist Thursday in a 6-3 loss to the Sabres.
That goal will settle in on his highlight reel, as he stole the puck and absolutely undressed Robin Lehner. Unfortunately, moments like that have been few and far between for Rieder, who had just four points in his past 14 games coming in. The talent's always been there, but we're still waiting for the 24-year-old's big breakout. Keep Thursday's impressive play in the back of your mind, though, in case he starts stringing some points together.
