Remember this fine young gentleman?
Of course you do. It's been less than 24 hours.
And that's all it takes these days before the capitalistic spirit takes over. The young man is Johnny R. Turk and he already has a website -- Catch 'N Chug -- where he sells two T-shirts commemorating his now-famous maneuver.
Definitely jump on over to the site to check out the two shirts, which are "Seattle Shower" and "Catch 'N Chug," but here's the message from our young entrepreneur:
Hi, I’m Johnny. You probably know me better as the guy who caught the ball in my beer and then chugged it at the Mariners’ game (affectionately referred to as the “Seattle Shower”). I started this website in response to people asking me for a shirt that captured the spirit of the incident. Having just graduated from University of Washington (GO HUSKIES!), I thought it might be a good way to help pay off some of my college debt.
To answer the other question that everyone asks (“What were you thinking”), my response is simple:
I wanted to inspire a win.
I thought maybe me chugging that beer would help give the Mariners the energy boost they needed to win the game. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
The good news is I made this site and you can share the moment with me. Maybe you’ll inspire others to win by taking a Seattle Shower.
Sincerely,
Johnny R Turk
Well played, Johnny. God speed and may your college debt disappear more quickly than an early Angels lead.
