At this time of year, with just two races left before the NASCAR Playoffs, the top organizations in the Cup Series are seeing to it that their race teams are structured exactly the way they need to be in order to race for a championship. At Team Penske, this involves a spotter swap for the team's two longest-tenured drivers.

According to a report by Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports, Team Penske drivers Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano will switch spotters beginning this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. Coleman Pressley will move from spotting for Keselowski's No. 2 to Logano's No. 22, while TJ Majors will do the same going from the No. 22 to the No. 2. According to Penske, the plan is for this arrangement to continue for the rest of the 2021 season.

The move within Penske breaks up two driver-spotter pairings that have persisted over the past several seasons. Majors had served as Logano's spotter since the start of the 2018 season, and helped guide Logano to his first Cup title that same season. Pressley -- the son of longtime NASCAR driver Robert Pressley and a former driver himself -- had worked with Keselowski since 2019.

The restructuring of spotters for two of Penske's three teams -- Josh Williams continues to serve as spotter for Ryan Blaney's No. 12 car -- comes as the organization has hit a dry spell. After all three drivers visited Victory Lane early in the season, a Penske car has not won a Cup race since Keselowski did so at Talladega in April.

While the plan on the spotter's stand is seemingly set for the rest of 2021, it remains to be seen how the arrangements made by Penske will carry over into 2022. Brad Keselowski is leaving the team for Roush Fenway Racing at season's end, and will be replaced in the No. 2 car by incoming Cup rookie Austin Cindric next season.
