Through 3 Quarters

The Oklahoma City Thunder are just one quarter away from delivering their fans the win they've been expecting. It's looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Houston Rockets as Oklahoma City lead 80-64.

The Thunder have been riding high on the performance of small forward Luguentz Dort, who has 22 points along with seven rebounds. Houston has been led by small forward Jae'Sean Tate, who so far has 15 points in addition to eight boards.

OKC's lead is the biggest they have had this year going into the fourth quarter.

What to Know

The Houston Rockets' road trip will continue as they head to Paycom Center at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday to face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

It's hard to picture a worse loss than the 136-102 bruising that Houston suffered against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. The Rockets were down 105-71 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. The top scorers for Houston were shooting guard Jalen Green (15 points) and small forward Jae'Sean Tate (14 points).

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 43-43 at halftime, but Oklahoma City was not quite the Miami Heat's equal in the second half when they met on Monday. Oklahoma City took a hard 103-90 fall against Miami. Shooting guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wasn't much of a difference maker for the Thunder; Gilgeous-Alexander played for 34 minutes with 2-for-11 shooting.

The Rockets are expected to lose this next one by 3. Now might not be the best time to take Houston against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past four consecutive games.

The losses put Houston at 1-13 and Oklahoma City at 5-8. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Houston ranks first in the league when it comes to fouls drawn per game, with 22.4 on average. But the Thunder come into the matchup boasting the second fewest fouls per game in the league at 17. The ref's whistle might dictate the flow of action in this one.
