The No. 1 item on Matthew Bailey's bucket list? Throw a football with Cam Newton. The 14-year-old was able to mark it off the list last year before he lost his battle with brain cancer.
Bailey died earlier this month. Newton spent time with the young man last spring, throwing a football with him and helping him complete the list.
Newton noted the young man's passing on Friday morning with an Instagram post talking about his feelings of inspiration generated by the young man's death.
The Panthers quarterback said he was "thankful" for the chance to meet Matthew, who he said was "an amazing kid with an incredible heart."
