The 2023 NFL preseason is in the books, and now it's full-speed to the regular season. As we head toward the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions kicking the year off on Thursday, Sept. 7, there is still some fine-tuning that needs to be done to each roster across the league. On Tuesday, clubs needed to trim their summer rosters from the maximum of 90 players down to 53, which opened up hundreds of players to waivers. That's the next step to this equation.
Teams will now be able to comb through the various players who were waived on Tuesday and, if they so choose, put in a claim to bring them aboard. The cutdown deadline saw a bunch of notable names suddenly become available, so it'll be fascinating to see if teams pounce at the opportunity. For those who want to know the wavier order, it's the same as the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs have been in communication with Chris Jones, who is still holding out from the team in search of a new deal.

(There is) a lot of respect on both sides of this thing. It's been obviously well stated how we feel about Chris (Jones), and he feels the same way. The Vikings officially announced waiving Jalen Reagor and signing Myles Gaskin. Chris Brooks beat out Gaskin in Miami, but Gaskin wasn't on the wire for long.
The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed DL Austin Bryant and DL Kerry Hyder Jr. to one-year deals. In order to make room on the roster, the team placed DL Robert Beal Jr. and WR Danny Gray on the Injured Reserve List.
Bryant and Hyder were released yesterday.
The Eagles filled out 13 of the 16 available spots on the PS
The Titans have released the majority of their practice squad -- 16 players. Tennessee has one spot remaining because of an exemption for having an international player. (TE Thomas Odukoya).
Former Browns kicker Cade York is reported to be that final player, but nothing official just yet.

Veteran linebacker Jaylon Smith is back on the Saints practice squad, per NFL Media. The former Cowboys/Giant spent the summer with New Orleans and now gives them depth at a position of need on the practice unit. Last season, he posted 88 tackles in 13 games played.
Really interesting signing for New York. Beasley in his prime was one of the NFL's better slot receivers.
The Baltimore Ravens are re-signing QB Anthony Brown to their practice squad, per ESPN. Brown appeared in two games last season and went 0-1 in his lone start. He completed 22 of his 49 throws for 302 yards and two interceptions.

The Kansas City Chiefs have claimed corner Darius Rush off of waivers from the Colts. The 2023 fifth-round pick out of South Carolina was a surprising cut on Tuesday.
Quarterback Ben DiNucci is re-signing with the Denver Broncos via the practice squad, per ESPN.
One of the more surprising cuts on Tuesday was in Foxborough with quarterback Bailey Zappe. He has since cleared waivers and a return to the Patriots via the practice squad is now likely, according to ESPN.
The Steelers have waived punter Braden Mann, likely to make room for CB Desmond King, the former All-Pro who had a punt return for a TD against the Steelers back in 2018.
The Vikings are scooping up OT David Quessenberry and signing him to their active roster pending a physical, per NFL Media. This comes after he was released by the Bills on Tuesday. The former sixth-round pick started three games for Buffalo last season.
The Steelers are signing DT Breiden Fehoko to their practice squad a day after waiving him, per NFL Media. The run-stopper had a nice training camp for Pittsburgh, so this is a nice coup by the club to sneak him onto the practice unit.
Meanwhile in Los Angeles, the Rams are working on a deal to sign former Broncos kicker Brett Maher, per ESPN. Maher connected on 90.6% of his field goals and 94.3% of his extra points during the regular season with the Cowboys in 2022. However, he did miss five extra points during Dallas' playoff run a season ago.
The Browns are re-signing quarterback Kellen Mond to their practice squad, per NFL Media. The veteran was released on Tuesday during final roster cuts. The former third-round pick remains in Cleveland.
The Eagles have made a trio of moves at receiver. The club has signed wideouts DeVon Allen, Britain Covey, and Greg Ward to their practice squad, according to NFL Media. This means they each cleared waivers.
