Report: Accident cost Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul tip of thumb

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul lost the tip of his thumb in an Independence Day fireworks accident, according to ESPN.

It had already been reported that Pierre-Paul completely blew off his index finger.

The length of his absence remains unknown. It is believed he will not return to action until at least October, but it has also been reported that the Giants fear he will miss the entire season.
