The San Jose Sharks may have the best promotional giveaway in the NHL – or any league – this season. The team just announced its promotions for the remainder of the regular season and revealed that fans purchasing tickets for March 28's game will receive a Chia Burns.

The team will be honoring their All-Star defenseman and noted grower of hair, Brent Burns when the club takes on the Los Angeles Kings. Fans that buy the ticket package for that specific game, which doubles as the Sharks’ Social Media Night, will get themselves their very own Chia Burns.

The veteran defenseman is currently in his fifth season with the Sharks and is having a career year. The 30-year-old currently has 50 points in 58 games. However, he is probably best known for his annual growing of the gnarliest beard in the league. He grows his hair right along with it and often donates it to charity when he finally manages to get it cut.

Burns parodied himself during the NHL All-Star skills competition, when he borrowed the popular “Evolution of Brent Burns” meme from Yahoo’s Puck Daddy blog and took a shootout attempt in a Chewbacca mask.

One of the great personalities in the game, Burns is certainly worthy of the Chia treatment. Something tells me the Sharks shouldn’t have any problem selling tickets for that game.
