  • Tomas Hyka: Didn't receive qualifying offer

Hyka, contrary to earlier reports, was not among the Golden Knights players to receive a qualifying offer, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Hyka is already signed to play for KHL club Traktor Chelyabinsk next year, but it's still a little surprising Vegas didn't give him an offer in order to retain his rights. The 26-year-old could still be an option for an NHL team down the road, but for now will continue his professional career in Europe.

  • Tomas Hyka: Qualified by Knights

Hyka received a qualifying over from Vegas on Tuesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Hyka has already inked a contract with Traktor of the KHL for the 2019-20 season, but because it issued a qualifying over, Vegas will retain his exclusive NHL rights should he decide to leave Russia and return to North America in the future. In 17 games with the Golden Knights a year ago, the 26-year-old scored a goal to go along with three assists.

  • Tomas Hyka: Headed overseas to KHL

Hyka agreed to terms with Traktor of the KHL on Monday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.

Hyka spent the majority of 2018-19 with AHL Chicago, registering 40 points in 43 games. Earlier in the year, playing at the NHL level, the 26-year-old failed to impress, recording just four points in 17 appearances with Vegas.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Demoted to AHL

Hyka was sent down to AHL Chicago on Thursday.

With only one goal and four points in 17 games, the Golden Knights made the decision to send the 25-year-old Czech down to the minors. This demotion is clearly not what Hyka was hoping for being that it's Thanksgiving and all, but despite the unfortunate set of circumstances, Hyka will hope that his play earns him a promotion in the near future. Meanwhile, in a corresponding move Thursday, Vegas recalled Daniel Carr.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Rings up power-play helper

Hyka registered a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-4 road loss to the Canadiens.

Hyka signed an entry-level contract with the Golden Knights ahead of both the expansion draft and regular draft of 2017. The fleet-footed winger is averaging 2:11 on the power play and two of his first three points this season have taken place with the man advantage. However, looking at the big picture, he's not making enough noise offensively to warrant fantasy attention outside of the deepest league formats. There's only so much Hyka can do as a skater averaging 12:28 of ice time.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Called up from minors

Hyka was promoted from AHL Chicago on Thursday, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

After placing Paul Stastny (undisclosed) on injured reserve, the Golden Knights were without a depth option at forward and will fill that spot with Hyka. The winger notched three helpers in his first two games with AHL Chicago and could find himself in the lineup over Ryan Reaves if coach Gerard Gallant decides he wants to favor scoring and speed over physicality versus the Penguins on Thursday.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Signs one-year deal with Vegas

Hyka inked a one-year, $650,000 contract with the Golden Knights on Thursday.

The 25-year-old scored 15 goals and 48 points in 50 games with AHL Chicago last season. He also appeared in 10 NHL contests, collecting a goal and three points with 15 shots on net. Depending on how the upcoming offseason plays out, Vegas could still have a logjam at forward and Hyka is not guaranteed a spot with the big club.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: International duty calls

Hyka's 2017-18 season has come to a close, as he will travel to Denmark to compete in the IIHF World Championship, Patrick Williams of NHL.com reports.

The Czech forward's season was likely over anyway, as his Chicago Wolves were eliminated from the AHL playoffs Friday. Now, though, he won't be able to be recalled by the Golden Knights during their postseason run. Hyka suited up in 10 games for the Golden Knights this season, recording just a goal and two assists, though he was much more effective in the AHL. Over 50 contests, the 25-year-old notched 48 points.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Returned to minor-league affiliate

The Golden Knights assigned Hyka to AHL Chicago on Thursday.

Hyka's demotion indicated Reilly Smith (undisclosed) will likely be available for Friday's matchup with Minnesota. The 24-year-old winger, who's notched one goal and three points in 10 contests with the big club this campaign, will return to the minors for the foreseeable future, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him back with the Golden Knights for their upcoming playoff run.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Promoted Thursday

Hyka was called up from the minors Thursday, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

With how banged up the Golden Knights are right now, Hyka appears set to suit up against the Red Wings on Thursday and could even get a look on the power play. The winger talled a goal and an assist in his six contests this season, while averaging 11:32 of ice time. It should be noted that the 24-year-old's promotion was not listed as an emergency call-up, which would mean he should stay with the club for the remainder of the season.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Added to NHL roster Tuesday

Hyka was recalled from the AHL ahead of Tuesday night's home game against the Kings, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

During Monday's road game against the Kings, James Neal reportedly left with a hand injury and missed the third period, and Oscar Lindberg was said to have been shaken up following a hit from Kyle Clifford, with the latter item reported by Kings beat writer Curtis Zupke. The rookie Hyka was originally the Kings' sixth-round (171st overall) draft choice in 2012.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Returned to minors

Hyka was returned to AHL Chicago on Saturday, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Hyka's demotion is believed to be the result of James Neal (illness) and the newly acquired Ryan Reaves both drawing into the lineup for the Golden Knights on Saturday. Hyka took advantage of his first taste of the NHL by scoring his first goal at the top level Friday versus the Canucks. It's unlikely this is the last we'll hear from the 24-year-old, who owns 34 points in 35 games with AHL Chicago this season.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Recalled from minors

Hyka was called up from AHL Chicago on Monday, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

The 24-year-old was recalled earlier this season, but did not play in two games before being sent back down to the Wolves. The Czech has yet to see any NHL action, and it remains to be seen if he will actually crack the lineup this time around.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Reassigned to minors

Hyka was sent down to AHL Chicago on Wednesday.

Hyka failed to crack the lineup during his stint with the Golden Knights, so he will have to wait a little longer before making his NHL debut. The 24-year-old will rejoin the Wolves, for whom he has tallied six goals and half a dozen assists in 16 outings. The winger will likely remain on coach Gerard Gallant's short list of potential call-ups.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Heading to Vegas

Hyka was called up from AHL Chicago on Monday.

This will be Hyka's first appearance on an NHL roster in his career, and with Vegas having a whopping four forwards on injured reserve currently, he should have a chance at seeing his first in-game action, as well. The 24-year-old has a small frame but makes up for it with great speed, and he's already posted 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 16 games for AHL Chicago this year.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Sent down to minors

Hyka was assigned to AHL Chicago on Tuesday.

Despite a decently strong showing during the preseason, Hyka was not able to make the Opening Night roster and will begin his NHL quest in the minors. That said, there's sure to be a lot of variables with the new expansion team in its inaugural season, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see the 24-year-old receive a recall sooner rather than later.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Racks up two points in preseason game

Hyka recorded a goal and an assist in Tuesday's preseason game against the Avalanche.

This was Hyka's first matchup against NHL competition, and he shined. On top of his two points, he recorded a plus-2 rating and fired three shots on goal while logging just 11:15 of ice time. The 24-year-old forward is on the roster bubble, so even if he keeps producing in preseason action, he may find himself starting the season with AHL Chicago.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hyka: Inks deal with Vegas

Hyka signed an entry-level contract with the Golden Knights on Thursday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

After being drafted by the Kings in 2012, Hyka went unsigned, making him available to be picked up by Vegas. The 24-year-old skated with Mlada Boleslav of the Czech Extraliga last season, where he led the team in goals (17), assists (21) and points (38). What he lacks in size -- 5-foot-11 and 174 pounds -- he makes up for in speed and stick-handling skills. It'll be interesting to see where Hyka fits into the new club's roster once both drafts take place later in June.
