The top four in Serie A are only separated by four points as impressive runs by Inter Milan and Atalanta have seen shifting the landscape in the race for the scudetto, which makes this an especially intriguing weekend with a lot of the top sides going head to head. While Inter will probably not have too much trouble traveling to Salernitana, Atalanta will welcome Roma while the match of the weekend will be Napoli at the San Siro against second-place AC Milan.

Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network are bringing their coverage on the road to the legendary San Siro in Milan as Serie A analyst Matteo Bonetti and play-by-play commentator Andres Cordero will be on-site to call the match, alongside former Serie A star Christian "Bobo" Vieri as a special guest analyst. Here's everything you need to know about the weekend's biggest Serie A matches.

1. AC Milan vs. Napoli

  • Date: Sunday, Dec. 19 | Time: 2:45 p.m. ET
  • TV: CBS Sports Network | Live stream: Paramount+
  • Caesars Sportsbook odds: AC Milan +128; Draw +245; Napoli +210

Why watch: Milan have had one of the best attacks in the league, averaging 2.1 goals per game (third-best) and are facing one of the better defenses in Napoli. While Napoli have taken some injury hits, they still have enough firepower to get a result if Lorenzo Insigne can perform to expectations. Insigne has only scored four goals from an expected goals of 9.3. He's getting into good positions but not finishing his chances. Given Insigne's pedigree, this isn't expected to continue for long. Milan don't have history on their side having only won one of their last 13 Serie A matches against Napoli, but they'll hope to turn things around on Sunday.

2. Atalanta vs. Roma

  • Date: Saturday, Dec. 18 | Time: 9 p.m. ET
  • TV: CBS Sports Network | Live stream: Paramount+
  • Caesars Sportsbook odds: Atalanta -150; Draw +320; Roma +370

Why watch: Roma are getting closer to full health but good luck stopping an Atalanta side that has been rolling as of late, winning their last six matches. Roma have struggled against the top sides in the league so Jose Mourinho will need to do his best to get points here. This one is equally important to Atalanta as they're in the thick of the title race and trail Inter by three points. If Roma can slow Duvan Zapata, they'll have a chance but this Atalanta side is dangerous in attack.

3. Fiorentina vs. Sassuolo

  • Date: Sunday, Dec. 19 | Time: 6:30 a.m. ET
  • Live stream: Paramount+
  • Caesars Sportsbook odds: Fiorentina -112; Draw +275; Sassuolo +290

Why watch: In a matchup of top attackers in Dusan Vlahovic and Domenico Berardi, this is a match worth the early wake-up call. While this is a duel between fifth and 12th-placed teams, they are only separated by a seven-point gap which speaks to how competitive the league has been this season. Fiorentina will need to be wary as Sassuolo have been giant killers this season and are unbeaten in their last four games against sides starting the matchday in a higher position than them.

4. Bologna vs. Juventus

  • Date: Saturday, Dec. 18 | Time: 12 p.m. ET
  • TV: CBS Sports Network | Live stream: Paramount+
  • Caesars Sportsbook odds: Bologna +305; Draw +255; Juventus -110

Why watch: Weston McKennie could return this weekend from a knee injury as Juventus are slowly finding form. While they have a few teams to pass in the standings, Juventus have closed in and are two points away from fifth place. Top four and potentially more is the target, but gradually sliding into fifth before the calendar year is over would be a major turnaround for a club that was floundering in the early days of the season. Juventus will need to defend set plays pretty well against a Bologna side that has scored eight dead-ball goals so far this season.

5. Spezia vs. Empoli

  • Date: Sunday, Dec. 19 | Time: 9 a.m. ET
  • Live stream: Paramount+
  • Caesars Sportsbook odds: Spezia +155; Draw +260; Empoli +155

Why watch: Unbeaten in their last four, Empoli have climbed to ninth in the table while Spezia have fallen to 16th after a winless run in their last six matches. Spezia have one of the worst attacks in the league only scoring 17 goals but they may find joy against an Empoli side that has allowed 29 goals so far with their high-risk style.
