The Chicago Sky are your 2021 WNBA champions after putting away the Phoenix Mercury 80-74 in Game 4 Sunday for their first-ever WNBA title. Kahleah Copper was named Finals MVP after averaging 17 points and 5.5 rebounds in the series. .

The Sky got through their single-elimination rounds with ease, securing comfortable wins over the Dallas Wings and Minnesota Lynx. In the semifinals, however, they had to survive two nail-biters, including a thrilling double-overtime Game 1 to take down the Connecticut Sun in four games.

As for the Mercury, they've had even more drama. They were almost eliminated in the first round, and needed a last-second free throw from Brianna Turner just to beat the 12-20 New York Liberty. Then, they escaped with an overtime win over the Seattle Storm in the second round. And finally, they eked out a Game 5 win on the road to defeat the Aces 3-2. In Game 4 against the Sky, they held a 14-point lead before going ice cold in the fourth.
