WWE SmackDown results, recap, grades: The Bloodline is on the back foot heading into WrestleMania Backlash

Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro continued to best Reigns and The Usos on the road to WrestleMania Backlash

The Bloodline has an unsteady grip on WWE SmackDown in the lead-up to WrestleMania Backlash. Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro continued to build momentum in their feud against Roman Reigns, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso at Friday's go-home show.

The two sides came face-to-face in the closing segment of SmackDown. Reigns and The Usos have been foiled at every turn by McIntyre, Randy Orton and Riddle. This was The Bloodline's final chance to level out the power balance in the lead-up to Sunday's main event six-man tag team match.

Elsewhere on the card, Shinsuke Nakamura returned to in-ring action and two tag teams brought out the blunder in a tables match.

The Bloodline is forced to acknowledge Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro

Riddle facilitated a therapy session between Orton and McIntyre who buried the hatchet after their WWE championship rivalry two years ago. The three repeatedly made light of Reigns' "acknowledge" catchphrase to the delight of the crowd.

Reigns and The Usos, flanked by Paul Heyman, were not amused. They entered the ring, squared off with their rivals and the brawl commenced. The Bloodline got the better of the exchange early, tossing Orton and Riddle from the ring before zeroing in on McIntyre. Riddle and Orton made the save before The Bloodline could follow through with the three-on-one assault. Riddle and Orton struck The Usos with an RKO each and McIntyre closed out the show with a Brogue Kick on Reigns. 

An uninspired go-home segment was buoyed by the quality of its performers. Riddle, Orton and McIntyre's comedic chemistry is a major upgrade from Madcap Moss' groan-inducing punchlines. Riddle "acknowledging" the size of McIntyre and Orton's thighs was made humorous on the strength of his aloof personality. RK-Bro and McIntyre's continuing to get the better of The Bloodline also strengthens the story. Reigns and company have been steamrolling everything and everyone on SmackDown for a long time. It looks like this feud will extend beyond WrestleMania Backlash, so it's important to mold McIntyre, Orton and Riddle into credible threats. Grade: B

• Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair brawled after Flair cheap-shotted Aliyah. Producers and WWE personnel managed to separate the two, but Shawn Davari ate a boot for his troubles.
• Shayna Bazler def. Sasha Banks via pinfall courtesy of a small package. 
• The Usos hyped themselves up during a backstage interview.
• RK-Bro were interviewed backstage. Riddle was somewhat confused, par for the course. Orton emphatically stated that they are a superior team to The Usos.
• Madcap Moss roasted Happy Corbin. His humor included jokes about the musician Pitbull, a hairless wolf and more.
• Gunther def. Drew Gulak via pinfall after powerbombing and folding him up. This was Gulak's return to the ring after a brief detour as a backstage personality.
• Shinsuke Nakamura was interviewed backstage. He promised to one day get vengeance on Roman Reigns for assaulting him weeks ago. Sami Zayn was spotted poking his head out of the corner.
• Drew McIntyre was interviewed backstage. He assured a whooping was waiting for Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash.
• Sheamus and Ridge Holland def. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, after Sheamus and Holland drove Woods through a table after an assist by Butch, who appeared from underneath the ring.
• Sami Zayn deliberated with Paul Heyman, continuing to try to plant the seeds for an alliance with Reigns.
• Lacey Evans opened up about her life in another video package. She opened up about her father's fatal overdose and a suicide attempt by someone close to her. Evans also made her live re-introduction, interacting with the live audience.
• Sami Zayn def. Shinsuke Nakamura via count-out after landing the Helluva Kick outside. Authority figure Adam Pearce made the match official moments before.
• WWE announced a women's tag team title match for next week's SmackDown pitting champions Banks and Naomi against Bazler and Natalya.
