Alabama @ Georgia
Current Records: Alabama 13-6; Georgia 5-14
What to Know
The Georgia Bulldogs have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Alabama Crimson Tide and are hoping to record their first victory since Jan. 6 of 2018. UGA and Bama will face off in an SEC battle at 6:30 p.m. ET Tuesday at Stegeman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide should still be feeling good after a win, while UGA will be looking to get back in the win column.
This past Saturday, UGA lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road by a decisive 83-66 margin. The top scorer for UGA was forward Braelen Bridges (20 points).
Meanwhile, Bama was able to grind out a solid win over the Missouri Tigers this past Saturday, winning 86-76. Bama can attribute much of their success to guard Jaden Shackelford, who had 21 points along with seven rebounds, and guard JD Davison, who had 17 points. Davison had some trouble finding his footing against the LSU Tigers last Wednesday, so this was a step in the right direction.
UGA is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past four games, so buyers beware.
UGA is now 5-14 while Bama sits at 13-6. Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Bulldogs are stumbling into the contest with the 25th most points allowed per game in college basketball, having given up 75.9 on average. The Crimson Tide's offense has more to brag about, as they they rank 13th in college basketball when it comes to points per game, with 81.4 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
