What to Know
The Hampton Pirates will be returning home after a two-game road trip. They and the VMI Keydets will compete for holiday cheer at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Hampton Convocation Center. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
Last week, Hampton lost to the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds on the road by a decisive 67-54 margin.
Meanwhile, the Keydets came up short against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last Tuesday, falling 77-70. Guard Sean Conway just could not get things rolling his way, playing for 29 minutes but putting up just five points on 2-for-11 shooting.
The losses put the Pirates at 4-7 and VMI at 7-5. Two stats to keep an eye on: Hampton has only been able to knock down 38.60% percent of their shots, which is the fifth lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. VMI's defense has more to brag about, as they they have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 36.50%, which places them ninth in college basketball.
