Who's Playing

Penn State @ Ohio State

Current Records: Penn State 8-6; Ohio State 10-4

What to Know

The Penn State Nittany Lions haven't won a game against the #16 Ohio State Buckeyes since Jan. 18 of 2020, but they'll be looking to end the drought Sunday. Penn State and the Buckeyes will face off in a Big Ten battle at noon ET at Value City Arena. The Nittany Lions will be strutting in after a win while OSU will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Penn State strolled past the Rutgers Scarlet Knights with points to spare last week, taking the matchup 66-49. Penn State relied on the efforts of guard Sam Sessoms, who had 17 points and six assists, and forward John Harrar, who had 16 points along with six rebounds.

Meanwhile, OSU came up short against the Wisconsin Badgers this past Thursday, falling 78-68. Guard Jamari Wheeler had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with 11 points on 5-for-12 shooting in his 29 minutes on the court.

The Nittany Lions are expected to lose this next one by 9.5. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a four-game streak of ATS wins.

Penn State is now 8-6 while the Buckeyes sit at 10-4. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Penn State is stumbling into the contest with the 356th fewest takeaways in college basketball, having accrued only 9.4 on average. OSUs have had an even harder time: they are 17th worst in college basketball in takeaways, with only 10.7 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
