Who's Playing

South Carolina @ Georgia

Current Records: South Carolina 13-10; Georgia 6-18

What to Know

The South Carolina Gamecocks are 11-3 against the Georgia Bulldogs since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success Saturday. USC and UGA will face off in an SEC battle at 2 p.m. ET at Stegeman Coliseum. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

The Gamecocks came up short against the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 86-76. USC's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of forward Wildens Leveque, who had 16 points in addition to seven rebounds, and forward Keyshawn Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. Leveque hadn't helped his team much against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, so this was a nice turnaround for him. Leveque's points were the most he has had all season.

Meanwhile, UGA came up short against the Florida Gators on Wednesday, falling 72-63. A silver lining for UGA was the play of guard Kario Oquendo, who had 22 points along with eight rebounds.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Gamecocks are expected to win a tight contest. The smart bettors have been the ones to keep their money on South Carolina's opponents whenever they hit the road.

The losses put USC at 13-10 and the Bulldogs at 6-18. A couple numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: USC is stumbling into the matchup with the 24th most turnovers per game in college basketball, having accrued 14.9 on average. UGA has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 33rd worst in college basketball in takeaways, with only 11 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
