This week's polls have been released. Here's how the Big East fared from top to bottom, and what it means.

The Seminoles lived up to the hype on the biggest stage, overcoming a third-quarter deficit with five consecutive touchdown drives to pull away from Clemson with a 49-37 win. While the faith in Florida State as a legit top-five team is strengthened, there has not been enough before Saturday to warrant jumping either Oregon or LSU in the polls. Basically, the Seminoles have moved from a cautious No. 4 to a strong No. 4. No actual movement in the polls, but voters probably feel more confident in their position.
Clemson takes an expected slide after their loss to Florida State, down 6-7 spots from its top-10 position. The Tigers impressed fans and voters alike by jumping out to an early lead and proving that even the seemingly invincible Seminoles defense cannot keep Tajh Boyd and that high-powered offense from the end zone. Clemson was most exposed on defense in the loss, as the young unit was worn down by the two-headed rushing attack of EJ Manuel and Chris Thompson. This team is still performing at a level above the rest of the ACC, and as long as the Tigers do not let this loss derail their season Clemson should keep winning and stay in the Top 25.
The Hokies showed a lot of much-needed improvements on Saturday, particularly establishing an effective ground game in their 37-0 win over Bowling Green. As a team, the Hokies combined for 246 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. That total matches Virginia Tech's combined rushing yards from the Austin Peay win (187) and Pittsburgh loss (59). But the Hokies inclusion in the coaches poll and absence from the AP poll could be another case of name recognition providing a boost from the coaches (or SIDs).
Others receiving votes: Aside from Virginia Tech's AP votes, which currently have the Hokies approximately five spots from the Top 25, the only other ACC team with attention from the voters is Miami. The Hurricanes received a single vote in the AP poll and two votes from the coaches after their dramatic 42-36 comeback win at Georgia Tech.
