The visiting Fighting Irish hope to win yet another game against an ACC opponent after going 9-0 last year. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The latest Notre Dame vs. Florida State odds from Caesars Sportsbook list the Fighting Irish as seven-point favorites, while the over-under is set at 53.5. Why Notre Dame can cover

Quarterback Ian Book has graduated, but the Fighting Irish still have hope. Former Wisconsin quarterback Jack Coan has transferred to Notre Dame and can keep the offense flying high. Coan completed nearly 70 percent of his passes with the Badgers in 2019. Adding his accuracy to last year's 12th-ranked scoring offense could be paramount, especially since Florida State forked up 36 points per game last season.

In addition, Notre Dame has won each of its last five games on the road. The Fighting Irish are also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games played in September.

Why Florida State can cover

The Seminoles had one of the worst scoring defenses in college football last year. Their boost on offense could make this matchup interesting, though. Former UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton is an option be under center for the Seminoles in their season opener, though Jordan Travis is in the mix as well. If Milton gets the nod to be the starter, he should make a big difference with his dual-threat abilities.

Milton tallied 62 passing touchdowns and 17 rushing touchdowns over his last two collegiate seasons. Unlocking the Seminoles' offensive potential could help the underdogs stay close at home on Sunday.
