Two of the most successful programs in college football history are set to battle in the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1 at 8:45 p.m. ET when No. 5 Georgia (11-2) and No. 15 Texas (9-4) meet up. Both teams lost in their conference title game, but have hopes of ending their season on a high note in this New Year's Six matchup. After opening at -11, the Bulldogs are now 12-point favorites in the latest Georgia vs. Texas odds, which also have the total set at 59.5. The Bulldogs were the more impressive team on paper this season, but with the spread approaching two touchdowns, making Georgia vs. Texas picks will be a challenge. That's why you'll want to check out the 2019 Sugar Bowl picks and predictions from SportsLine's proven computer model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen massive returns. Over the past three years, this proprietary computer model has generated a jaw-dropping $4,210 profit for $100 bettors on its top-rated point-spread picks.

The model made some huge calls during Championship Week, including Ohio State (-16.5) against Northwestern and Oklahoma (-9.5) against Texas. And when it comes to all top-rated picks, the model has been red-hot, entering the 2018 college football bowl season on a blistering 45-25 run. This same model has also nailed almost 70 percent of bowl picks straight up over the past three years. Anybody who has followed it is way, way up.

Now, it has analyzed the latest 2019 Sugar Bowl odds and crunched the numbers. We can tell you it is leaning to the under, and it's also generated a point-spread pick that hits in over 50 percent of simulations. That 2019 Sugar Bowl pick is only available at SportsLine.

The model has taken Georgia's extremely strong performance in the SEC Championship Game against top-ranked Alabama into account. Alabama was largely untested all season long until the Bulldogs pushed them to the brink in Atlanta, ultimately falling 35-28 after Tide backup quarterback Jalen Hurts led Alabama back from a two-score deficit.

Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm showed why he was able to hold off elite recruit Justin Field as the Bulldogs clear-cut No. 1 quarterback all season. Fromm completed 25 of 39 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns against the Tide. He comes into this matchup with a ton of confidence, while Fields is reportedly considering a transfer.

But that doesn't meant they'll be able to cover a Sugar Bowl spread that's approaching two touchdowns.

Texas bounced back extremely well from a stunning loss to Maryland in the season opener. The Longhorns reeled off six consecutive wins from the point, including handing Kyler Murray and Oklahoma their only loss of the season in a 48-45 decision.

Back-to-back losses to Oklahoma State and West Virginia took Texas out of the title hunt, but three more wins, including one over a ranked Iowa State squad, put the Longhorns back in the New Year's Six picture. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger was the catalyst this season, throwing for 3,123 yards, 25 touchdowns and just five interceptions. His strong decision-making, combined with a knack for finding the end zone on the ground (13 rushing TDs), give Texas a great shot of getting at least the cover on New Year's Day.
