Texas Tech wrapped up a 7-5 regular season with a signature win for Kliff Kingsbury, knocking off Texas 48-45 in Austin on Thanksgiving night.
The final score does not indicate the pace of the entire game. It was scoreless after the first quarter and though the pace picked up before halftime it was the events of the 42-point fourth quarter that will define the 2015 edition of this new Thursday night rivalry. The highlight of the game was Texas Tech's final touchdown, a 40-yard touchdown run from Jakeem Grant on a trick play to push the Red Raiders' lead to 10 points in the final minutes of the game.
Texas Tech lined up tight, simulating the victory formation, and Texas' defense quickly crowded the line of scrimmage. The bunched-up Longhorns were caught way out of position by the time the 5-foot-7, 168-pound Grant picked up the ball from behind the offensive line and starting sprinting down the left sideline.
When you see Kliff Kingsbury celebrate the touchdown in the video below, take note of his first look: It's at the Texas sideline. Kingsbury knows Texas Tech hasn't won in Austin since 1997 and this game means a ton to the Red Raiders.

The name of the play, you ask? According to Kingsbury, "Little People, Big World."
Texas did answer quickly thanks to a nice return from Daje Johnson, a TTU penalty and a Chris Warren touchdown run, but the Red Raiders hung on for the win.
Texas falls to 4-7 on the year heading into next week's finale against Baylor, all but guaranteeing the program's first season without a bowl game since the disastrous 2010 season under Mack Brown.
