Skaggs (2-5) picked up the win after firing seven shutout innings Wednesday. He allowed three hits while walking one and striking out five in a 9-1 win over the Astros.

Fantasy owners may have been hesitant to start the inconsistent southpaw against an Astros lineup that was loaded with right-handed power, but Skaggs overcame the odds and came out victorious. He has now posted two consecutive quality starts with an impressive 14:2 K:BB ratio over 13 innings. Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reported that Skaggs' recent success has coincided with the reincorporation of his two-seam fastball, a pitch he ditched last season. The proof was in the pudding for the 26-year-old, as he induced a season-high seven groundballs in Wednesday's dominant outing. Skaggs will look to keep things rolling in another tough matchup against the red-hot Indians next Tuesday.
