Hoying is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
With no designated hitter spot available for the three-game series in Washington, the Rangers have prioritized offense over defense in starting Delino DeShields in center field, relegating Hoying to a bench role. At least until Mike Napoli (back) returns from the disabled list, there should be room for both Hoying and DeShields in the lineup when the Rangers resume play against American League clubs.
