Hoying's demotion clears a spot on the active roster for Teoscar Hernandez (personal), who was reinstated from the paternity list in a corresponding move. During his brief time with Toronto, Hoying logged three plate appearances over two games in what marked the 32-year-old outfielder's first big-league action since 2017.
