Morris won't start Sunday's Game 7 against the Magic, Serena Winters of Bally Sports Cleveland reports. With Jarrett Allen (hip) sidelined, Morris got a chance in the starting unit during Game 6 but finished with just two points (1-7 FG) and eight rebounds in 27 minutes during a disappointing loss. Coach J.B. Bickerstaff has reinserted Isaac Okoro into the starting lineup in place of Morris for the decisive Game 7. In Game 5, Morris came off the bench and posted 12 points (4-9 FG) in 26 minutes.... See More ... See Less

Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Quiet in start
Morris registered two points (1-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), eight rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 103-96 loss to Orlando in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. After scoring 12 points off the bench during Cleveland's Game 5 win, Morris moved into the starting lineup for Game 6 to replace Isaac Okoro, who filled in for Jarrett Allen (hip) in the previous contest. However, the move didn't work out, as Morris couldn't find the bottom of the net and finished with a minus-seven point differential during a disappointing effort from the Cavaliers.... See More ... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Gets starting nod
Morris is in the starting five for Friday's Game 6 against the Magic. Morris will replace Isaac Okoro in the starting lineup Friday, while Jarrett Allen (hip) misses his second consecutive contest. Morris will make his first start of the season for Cleveland but averaged 11.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24.6 minutes across seven starts in 2023-24 for Philadelphia.... See More ... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Steps up for Cleveland
Morris finished Tuesday's 104-103 victory over Orlando in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes. The Cavaliers were missing Jarrett Allen (ribs), and while Isaac Okoro drew the start, Morris stepped into the rotation and made a massive impact. Morris had a total of 15 minutes in this series before Tuesday, so credit to him for staying ready. For now, it remains unclear if Allen will be ready to return for Game 6 in Orlando on Friday.... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Set to remain in Cleveland
The Cavaliers are planning to sign Morris to a rest-of-season contract Thursday, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Morris' 10-day contract with Cleveland recently expired, but the veteran forward is set to remain with the team for the remainder of 2023-24. Across his five appearances with the Cavaliers, Morris is averaging 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.2 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Marcus Morris: Deal with Cleveland expires
Morris became a free agent Thursday after his 10-day contract with the Cavaliers expired, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Cleveland has the ability to re-sign Morris to a second 10-day deal, though it's unclear if the team has any desire to keep him around. Over the course of his first 10-day pact, Morris appeared in five games and averaged 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers and 1.2 assists in 18.2 minutes per contest, but he fell out of the rotation in Wednesday's 118-111 loss to the Hornets while Max Strus (knee) made his return from a 12-game absence.... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Hits showers early
Morris was ejected from Monday's game against the Hornets after being assessed a Flagrant 2 foul, Evan Dammarell of FearTheSword.com reports. He had three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt) in eight minutes before exiting. Morris picked up the foul after making what was deemed unnecessary contact with Nick Richards, and he was immediately ejected from the contest. He failed to contribute much before getting tossed.... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Delivers 11 points off bench
Morris provided 11 points (4-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and one assist over 26 minutes during Friday's 104-91 loss to the Timberwolves. Morris wasn't sharp with his shooting and made just one of his five attempts from beyond the arc, but he had enough volume to score in double digits, marking the second time he has reached that mark in his first three games with Cleveland. He should continue to have a role off the bench with the Cavs, especially given how depleted their frontcourt is at the moment, but Morris should be left on the wire in most fantasy leagues outside of deep formats.... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Debuts with 14 points
Morris contributed 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-5 3Pt) and four rebounds across 20 minutes during Monday's 108-103 victory over the Pacers. This was a terrific debut for Morris, and the Cavaliers gave him a solid role right away. Given the amount of injuries in Cleveland, that could continue in the short term. Morris is worth monitoring closely in deeper fantasy formats, especially if Donovan Mitchell (knee/nose), Max Strus (knee), Evan Mobley (ankle) and Dean Wade (knee) remain out.... See More ... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Available Monday
Morris is available for Monday's game against Indiana, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Freshly inked to a 10-day deal, Morris will be available and could slot into the rotation for an undermanned Cleveland squad. Though he averaged just 17.2 minutes per game in 37 appearances with the 76ers earlier this season, Morris proved to be a proficient perimeter shooter, knocking down 40 percent of his 2.4 three-point attempts per contest.... Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Joins Cleveland on 10-day deal
Morris agreed to a 10-day contract with the Cavaliers on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Morris was bought out by the Spurs prior to the March 1 deadline, so he'll be eligible for the postseason after signing with Cleveland. Though he hasn't made an appearance since Feb. 5 -- when he was still a member of the 76ers -- Morris could capture a rotational role for a Cavaliers squad that has been hit hard by injuries of late.... Marcus Morris: Agrees to buyout with San Antonio
Morris agreed to a contract buyout with the Spurs on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Upon clearing waivers, Morris will be free to join a team of his choosing, and he'll likely receive some interest from postseason-contending teams. However, it's unlikely he'll find himself in a situation where he garners meaningful minutes, so he can safely remain on the waiver wire in most leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Remains out for Thursday's game
Morris (not with team) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Thunder, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Morris has been away from the Spurs after being dealt to San Antonio ahead of the trade deadline. His contract is expected to be bought out at some point.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Remains away from team
Morris (not with team) is listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves. Morris was dealt to San Antonio ahead of the trade deadline but has yet to make an appearance for the Spurs. The expectation is that the veteran will be bought out at some point, per Matt Roy of News 4 San Antonio.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Won't face Utah
Morris (not injury related) won't play Sunday against the Jazz, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports. Morris remains away from the team and it's unclear when -- or if -- he will suit up for the Spurs again, or if he'll end up becoming a free agent. His next chance to play will come against Minnesota on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Still away from team
Morris won't play in Thursday's game versus the Kings due to being away from the team, independent NBA writer Matthew Tynan reports. Despite being left off the Spurs' previous injury report, Morris is now listed as out for Thursday's contest. It is unclear when the veteran forward will return to action.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Left off injury report
Morris (not injury related) isn't on the injury report for Thursday's game versus the Kings. Morris has yet to play for San Antonio since being traded from the 76ers. It remains to be seen if the veteran forward will receive any playing time against Sacramento.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Won't play against Dallas
Morris (not with team) is listed as out for Wednesday's game versus the Mavericks, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Morris has yet to play for the Spurs since being traded from Philadelphia. The veteran forward is likely working on a buyout with San Antonio.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Still not with San Antonio
Morris (not with team) won't play Monday versus Toronto. The Spurs acquired Morris from the 76ers on Thursday as part of a three-way deal involving the Pacers, who received Doug McDermott from San Antonio. Morris has yet to join his new team and could be a buyout candidate.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Marcus Morris: Not with team, likely to be waived
Morris (not with team) has been ruled out for the Spurs' game Saturday versus the Nets. Morris was moved to San Antonio on Thursday in a three-team deal involving the 76ers and Pacers. Though Morris had missed Philadelphia's last two contests with left foot plantar fasciitis prior to being moved, the Spurs aren't attaching an official injury to his name on their injury report. Instead, Morris has yet to join the team and is expected to be bought out by the Spurs, according to Matt Roy of News 4 San Antonio. As a 34-year-old on an expiring deal, Morris doesn't fit into the non-contending Spurs' rebuild plans.... See More ... See Less
