Jackman was placed on unconditional waivers Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. He's facing a contract buyout from the Predators.
After spending 13 NHL seasons in St. Louis, Jackman attracted Nashville in free agency ahead of the 2015-16 campaign. He was used sparingly by the Preds, averaging a career-low 13:51 of ice time. While the 35-year-old will never be mistaken for a scoring threat, he's a fearless veteran who isn't afraid to get in the way of pucks -- he's totaled 342 blocked shots in the last three years.
