Welsh was recalled from AHL Chicago on Sunday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
In 11 games for Chicago, Welsh has amassed five goals and three assists with 11 penalty minutes. It's unclear how long the 27-year-old will stick with the Blues, as his recall is likely temporary. Welsh has not skated in an NHL game since the 2013-14 season.
