Wagner was assigned to AHL San Diego on Thursday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. He collected a goal and two assists in that night's 6-1 thumping of the AHL Stars for Game 3 of the Pacific Division semifinals.

April has been good to Wagner. Yes, the Ducks lost to the Predators in the quarterfinals, but he can extract positives from his signing a two-year extension with the team to start the month and now, there's more playoff hockey for the 24-year-old winger. In 17 NHL games this season, the versatile Wagner picked up two assists for his only points, but Ducks brass thinks highly of him based on how he was claimed off waivers during the regular season and subsequently earned that contract renewal.
